12 Axes vs 8values vs 9Axes – What Changed
How the 12 Axes test relates to the earlier popular multi-axis quizzes 8values and 9Axes.
8values and 9Axes are earlier political quizzes that became popular online by scoring multiple ideological dimensions instead of a single left–right line. 12 Axes belongs to the same broad family but is an independent project.
What stayed similar
- Multi-axis design rather than a single spectrum
- Agree/disagree statements that accumulate scores on opposing poles
- Free, browser-based, no-account experience in the public versions
What 12 Axes changes or expands
- Twelve distinct axes instead of eight or nine
- Reorganised or newly separated topics (for example clearer splits around immigration, intervention, technology/biology)
- Larger matching catalogs for ideologies, countries/regimes and political figures in the more recent implementations
- Multiple length options (short / full / extreme) in some deployments
12 Axes is not an official sequel or authorised update of 8values or 9Axes. It is a separate open project that builds on the same general idea of multi-dimensional political self-assessment. For the exact axis list used by the current popular version, see the axes explanation page or the main guide.
